The Sunshine Coast is a great place for photographic opportunities. A 40 minutes ferry ride from Vancouver lands you in Gibsons BC where you can find 'Molly's Reach', a restaurant from the 1980s TV series 'BeachCombers' as well as a great waterfront community.
Driving northwest on the Sunshine Coast Highway for 45 minutes will bring you to Sechelt. Another small gem of a community with Porpoise Bay to the north and the Salish Sea to the south.
An hour drive from Gibsons is the trailhead to get the Skookumchuck Narrows where twice a day the rising tide churns the rapids into something dramatic. The 4k hike to the narrows is leisurely and lovely.
